Who Is Travis McMichael Wife Nicole Joyner? Where Is She Amid His Arrest?

Writer Avery Gonzales

A group of Caucasian men—the McMichaels and Bryan—shot and killed black man Ahmaud Arbery, 25, as he ran close to Brunswick, Georgia.

The McMichaels and Bryan chased after Arbery as he ran through the neighborhood, pinning him between two pickup trucks and then shooting him to death with a shotgun.

Moreover, Travis McMichael is charged with using a shotgun to fire at Arbery three times from a close distance. He and his father maintain that Arbery was shot in self-defense after being caught and accused of being a burglar.

Travis McMichael’s Wife Nicole Joyner Amid His Arrest: Where is She?

A former Coast Guard member, Travis married his wife, Nicole Joyner, and the duo has a kid named Evertt McMichael.

His wife has kept her identity secret ever since the day he was charged with the murder. However, his mother, Leigh McMichael, has testified in the trial on behalf of her son and husband while visibly crying.

In contrast, Leigh was a nurse who had previously worked at a hospice facility. The 36-year-old has a sister named Lindsey McMichael.

After the verdict, attorney Laura Hogue consoled McMichael’s wife and kids. Both troubled by the decision, Leigh and her daughter were also comforted by Hogue.

One Of His Family Members Was Involved In A Heinous Crime

Speaking of his family, his father, who ought to be guiding him on the right path, was also a party to this heinous crime.

The sentences for his father, Gregory McMichael, and his neighbor, William “Roddie” Bryan, who were found guilty of the same federal offenses, are scheduled to be handed out later on Monday at the same Georgia courthouse.

Besides, his father was a former police officer in Glynn County who later worked for the district attorney’s office, while Roddie Bryan’s line of work was mechanical.

Due to their convictions in state court on several offenses connected to the death of the 25-year-old Black man, including felony murder, all three are already serving life sentences.

In February, a federal jury found McMichael, his father, and Bryan guilty of the counts after adopting the prosecution’s claim that the defendants harbored racial animosity toward Arbery.

While his father, Gregory McMichael, was found guilty of using and carrying a.357 Magnum pistol, McMichael, who shot dead Arbery, was also found guilty of using and carrying a Remington shotgun.

Travis Sentenced To Life In Prison For Hate Crimes In 2020 Killing Of Ahmaud Arbery

On Monday, the 36-year-old who shot Ahmaud Arbery to death received a life sentence plus ten years in jail under federal hate crime accusations.

Additionally, a judge mandated that McMichael serve his sentence in a state jail rather than a federal one, as his lawyer had sought.

U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood stated in imposing the sentence that McMichael had been given a fair trial, “the kind of trial that Ahmaud Arbery did not have before he was shot and died.”

Likewise, McMichael was ordered to serve his term in state prison at the prosecution’s request and members of Arbery’s family.

In contrast, his sentencing is the first of three consecutive sentencings for the attackers.
